DoKomi is a meeting place for fans of anime, manga, Japanese music, fashion, and pop culture. As a trade fair, DoKomi offers a large and interactive program for visitors. You can find a more detailed description under What is DoKomi?
The next DoKomi will take place from May 29 to 31.
Ticket presale for 2026 starts on November 1, 2025, at 8 p.m.
Information on how to get there can be found under "When and where".
No. Many visitors do come in cosplay, but this is of course not a must!
Yes! DoKomi is a youth event, so age is not an issue. You can find more detailed information under Age Restrictions.
Note: The evening events (Cosplay ball, J-Rave and Akuma no Mori) are only open to visitors of legal age (18+).
As Europe's first Japan convention, we are giving you the opportunity to actively shape the development of the event! You can decide for yourself whether you would like to support DoKomi when purchasing your ticket. Here we explain why we are doing this and how it works:
Anyone familiar with DoKomi knows how important it is to us to keep ticket prices as low as possible. We want to make it possible for all age groups to participate, regardless of how much your wallet allows.
That's why we looked for a solution that would allow us to keep ticket prices at an affordable level while also creating space for new program items and (e.g.) guests of honor: A ticket system with a crowdfunding component!
We have calculated a base price that allows us to keep DoKomi at its current quality level at Messe Düsseldorf. However, if you would like to see more program items, star guests, or special features, you can also set a higher ticket price and donate some money to an area of the convention of your choice.
And you will be rewarded for doing so! Whenever you exceed a certain value visible on the slider, you unlock a "thank you" gift. Thank you gifts (goodies) are small and larger gifts such as key rings or T-shirts. There are new goodies to collect every year!
Simply move the slider to the amount you want to pay per ticket. You can see the total cost of your order and how much of that is part of the donation at any time.
You can also see how many goodies have been unlocked per ticket at any time.
The crowdfunding goodies are expected to be sent out gradually starting in Januar.
Note:
For logistical reasons, crowdfunding goodies can only be shipped within the EU. Buyers from outside the EU can pick up their goodies locally at the DoKomi merch booth.
Tickets for DoKomi are only available online through our ticket shop. There will NOT be a box office on site. Please note: The online ticket shop will only have a box office if the day is not sold out.
To simplify logistics for everyone, we decided in 2016 to only sell tickets online.
You will receive e-tickets by email or you can download them from your TicketPay page. Please bring the tickets with you in printed form or show them on your mobile phone at the venue. Alternatively, you can select physical tickets from TicketPay for a fee, which will be sent to you by mail.
Emails with access to e-tickets are sent immediately after receipt of payment. If you have not received a confirmation email, please contact help@ticketpay.de. If you have any questions about tickets, you can also reach the ticket company by phone from Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at: +49 - (0)2381-3389844 (TicketPAY Europe GmbH, Neue Bahnhofs. 1-3, De-59065 Hamm).
Children up to and including the age of 8 accompanied by an adult are admitted free of charge. A valid child ID card must be presented on site.
Severely disabled persons can book an accompanying person free of charge after purchasing their own ticket and sending proof of their severely disabled status with the addition B. Requests can be submitted through the following form: https://zfrmz.eu/ffQ8vRoxraJwjNARkYQv
If you have any questions, you can also contact the ticket company by phone from Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on +49 - (0)2381-3389844 (TicketPAY Europe GmbH, Neue Bahnhofstr. 1-3, De-59065 Hamm).
If that's what it says on the website's ticket system, then unfortunately that's the case. But the good news is that many tickets change hands after the event! Tickets can be offered for resale via the official TicketPay resale shop. When a transaction is successfully completed, the original ticket is deactivated and the buyer receives a completely new ticket that only they have access to. The resale shop will be activated shortly after the advance sales start and will then be linked here.
Unfortunately, that's not possible. The risk of something getting lost in the hustle and bustle of the event is simply too great. We therefore strongly recommend that you take advantage of the numerous advance sales options.
Unfortunately, this is not possible. However, tickets can be transferred to someone else. Please see the next point for more information!
Yes, as the tickets are not personalized, you can give them to someone else.
DoKomi always strives to keep ticket prices as low as possible despite the sharp rise in costs in recent years. We want to enable young people from all walks of life to participate in DoKomi and not exclude anyone based on their financial circumstances.
Since 2023, we have been working with TicketPay as our partner platform, which provides the online shop for us. This gives us more options for designing the checkout process and allows us to offer you a better user experience. TicketPay also handles inquiries about orders, so you can always get quick help here. There is a small fee per ticket for these services, which also includes the costs for payment processing. The fee is variable and depends on the total amount.
